SUSANNAH B is the latest musical incarnation of singer-songwriter Susannah Blinkoff, whose catchy pop songs have been heard on FM radio, MTV, and in feature films.
Her new 5-song collection "FAR MORE" includes three original cuts plus covers of the 1971 classic “I Just Want to Celebrate” & The Police hit “Spirits in the Material World".
Susannah B describes her new collection as “meditative chill-electronica.” Her thoughtful, positive lyrics address themes of spiritual identity, self-acceptance, gratitude, and celebration. She and collaborator John Ballinger (who plays all the instruments & co-produced) layer complex vocal harmonies, techno-synth drum loops, and organic, raw sounds like steel drum and cello to create rhythmic, healing world grooves that are perfect for these times. Anchoring the radio-friendly songs is Susannah's smooth, bell-toned voice that shifts easily from sultry & sensual to strong & funky -- kind of like Sade and Annie Lennox mixed together and produced by Peter Gabriel.
Susannah’s earlier albums can be found on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora and elsewhere under the name CAMP SUSANNAH (HAPPY TODAY) and SUSANNAH BLINKOFF (LET’S PRETEND). On Soundcloud, Susannah B has recently re-released some “vintage” tracks produced by David Sutton (Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Liz Phair). She has performed with her band at Hotel Café, The Mint, Genghis Cohen, Satellite, and many other venues in Los Angeles.
In addition to her pop music, Susannah B also sings regularly with a group of L.A.-based classical musicians exploring the mid-century work of jazz composer Alec Wilder. After playing numerous house concerts with The Alec Wilder Project, she created the cabaret show "GIRL GONE WILDER! The Songs of Alec Wilder" and most recently performed at The Gardenia Restaurant & Lounge in Hollywood.
